Irma

Father: Chieng Mai of Copenhagen Zoo                                                        Mother: Buag Hah of Copenhagen Zoo

Arrived in Rotterdam on September 17, 1975.

Irma is the oldest elephant at Rotterdam Zoo. She was the first elephant who had a baby in this zoo (Bernhardine).

Irma has five descendants:

- June 6, 1984 ♀ Bernhardine (now in Dublin Zoo)
- November 25, 1990 ♀ Yasmin (now in Dublin Zoo)
- March 1, 1995 ♀ Indira (†)
- November 28, 2000 ♀ Bangka
- February 21, 2004 ♂ Sibu (now in Zoo Dierenrijk)
 

In February 2009 an unborn, dead, foetus was removed succesfully.
