Wally I

Asian elephant (Elephas maximus)

Female, born circa 1889 in India. Arrived at Rotterdam Zoo in 1907, and died there on September 11, 1919.

This photo from an old magazine says: "At Rotterdam Zoo - Wally, the elephant, guarded by his keeper, and stared by the children, makes a walk through the garden".

  Wally, Moeli en Willy.

Wally:

Female, born circa 1916. Came to Rotterdam on May 21, 1920, and died in the zoo in 1928, after suffering an unknown disease.

Moeli:

Female, born January 1922 in Sumatra. Came to Rotterdam in November 1922,  and died in the zoo in 1928, after suffering an unknown disease.

Willy:

Bull, born circa October 1922. Came to Rotterdam on April 21, 1923. Moved in 1929 to Burgers Zoo in Arnhem.
