Asian elephant (Elephas maximus) Female, born in circa 1967 To Emmen on November 21, 1980, to Budapest on October 21, 1996. To replace Suzan Emmen Zoo bought Hella from a Swedish circus. Hella retired; no circus acts were allowed in the zoo anymore. After the arrival of the new herd in 1988 Hella, and her best friend Zitta, did not feel comfortable anymore.
